Ask Asian Aunty is a participatory performance that melds two cultural matriarchal forms: the ‘Asian Aunty’, someone who constantly gives unsolicited and unfiltered, but ~loving~ life advice; and the Agony Aunt, an advice columnist offering solutions to readers’ personal problems. We field questions from followers about love, life, co-workers and beauty regimes, which are answered by our resident aunties in a brash, humorous and caring manner. 

Ask Asian Aunty launched in early 2021 on @askasianaunty featuring OG aunties Jamie Lewis and Natalie Tan. In late 2021, Ask Asian Aunty featured queer aunties-in-residence Anna Hay and Rosie McGowan. In 2022, Ask Asian Aunty was part of Renaissance One's festival 'This is who we are' with aunties Sundra Lawrence and Jamie Lewis. Earlier iterations of this project were performed live.
